Sustainable School Prototype in Qinhai, Save the Children & CUHK

A set of design principles on sustainable school prototype were made, demonstrated with a specific design for a designated site. Such principles include building orientation, the use of sun-space for classrooms, trombe wall for dormitories, vestibules; integration of green house and cultivation; use of water filtration system; respect to existing greenery and site conditions; use of local materials and technology, standardization of building bays in respect to dimensions of local building materials.
